hi. names shawn. new to this. i know there is a lot of very helpful info and very knowledgeable people on this site so i joined. i just got a new project, and a project it is! bought the car for $300. i had been searching for a 49-52 chevy for about two years. i really wanted a business coupe, but was having a lot of trouble finding one. i live in san mateo close to san francisco CA, and the only cars i could find were either too far north or too far south. one day i was in burlingame to get my girlfriends car washed. out of the courner of my eye i thought i saw a primer grey chopped 51 0r 52 chevy. we stopeed and i realized that behind it was another either 51or 52 that was pretty hacked up, no front clip, and looked like it would fit my price range:) . it just goes to show guys that you still can find that dream car right around the corner, NEVER STOP THE SEARCH FOR THAT PERFECT CAR. the car was only 10 min away from my house!. i would really appreciate any help from you guys to get my car roadworthy, i will try to post some pics soon of it, if i can figure it out, it has no glass, rusty floors, no motor/trans,trunk cut out, sometraintrack steel from frame to frame in the rear and some weird cuts like they were going to back half the car. perfect project. i am going to look at a 10 bolt tomorrow for it, to do an open driveline...any suggestions? also if anybody has any info about chopping the top on a car like mine, and laying the back window down that would be great. also if any body lives near me and has parts let me know.THANKS
