ALCAN AV8
09-05-2007, 11:53 PM
I have been lurking here for a few years and finally got around to signing up.
I am 36 and married with 3 daughters. We live In Dawson Creek BC which is the start of the Alcan or Alaska Highway. There are usually a few groups of Hot Rods or Vintage cars every summer that make there way through here on their way to or from Alaska.
My Dad was in to cars and drag racing when I was young and I have been interested ever since.
About 7years ago I read the Bishop/Tardel book and decided to try and build an AV8. My dad had collected some parts over the years and had the remains of a 29 RPU that was the start of the project.
We have been going to swap meets, farm auctions and anywhere else we can think of to collect parts ever since.
Two summers ago we got the truck ready in time for our local car show.

There is still a bunch of things I want to do to the truck but I have been driving it to work May - Oct and anything else I do to it will have to wait for winter and some spare $.
If the photo works I will post some build photos later.
