Hello everyone,
Really nice forum, lots of good informations found in here. Where do I start? I am 23 years old and love old cars since I am young. I live near Montreal. I bought a 1931 ford Tudor at 19. I plan on making it as tradional as possible. I work at a restoration shop where we also do hot rods and customs. I mainly do bodywork but am also good at welding.

For the last 6 months I have been building a custom frame with a 4" drop straight axle and a quickchange-banjo rear end. The front unit is fully chromed I-Beam with 1948 Ford square spindles. I use 1939 lincoln backplates on all wheels. The drums and wheels are from a 1938 Ford. The tires a 700-16 in the rear and 450-475-16 in the front, all black walls with off-white rims.

The engine is a 1953 Ford flathead with a 4" Mercury crank, offy heads and 3x2 intake. 3 Strombergs 97 with a 12 volts generator and startor. The transmission is a T-5 from a S10 with a offy adaptor plate. There is a Vega steering box for now but I may change it for a 1956 Ford one if I can find a decent one.

I will try to bring this car to the Detroit Autorama show in 2009. I plan to bring it in the rising star award if it is finished before I turn 25. I am also planning on the next projects :P. Probably a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe with a blown Ardun flathead. Of course it would be an original body.

Where did you find Ardun heads up here? I thought they were like unicorns or something....;)
Post some pics of your car, it sounds great!

I don't have ardun heads, I plan on getting a set one day :P. For the pictures, I don't have many and my internet connection is really slow. Here is 2 links to pictures of my frame. It was at a car show this summer. They are not my pictures so I don't know it is correct for me to show them.

I am currently trying to get my hands on a set of Electroline 2200 headlights to put on that car. Tail lights are going to be from a 1939 lincoln. The radiator shell is an original ford 1932. And by the way I spent around 450 hours spent on the frame.

I live on the south shore of montreal, near saint-constant and Laprairie. I speak french usually, but on this forum, english seems to be the main language. I see you are from Rigaud, it is about 1 hour from me.

Thank you very much for the comments. I try really hard to make everything perfect. Of course some times I get some issues, but I will do everything I can to find another way to do it. I don't mind spending 2-3 days doing one bracket, if it is what I want I will take the time to do it right. Also one question, am I crazy if I spent 40 hours grinding, sanding and polishing a flathead block? :P

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you got a great project and a good job too. Pictures would be nice if you can manage it. French Huh? You could try to post some stuff in French. Maybe even get some responses. In my case I have used French for about 48 years so it might take me a day or two just trying to figure out what you said. Could be fun though.:D In any case, Welcome!
