I got this rear end complete from a '47 Lincoln Cont-its right width and has the [preferred big brakes]-]is open drive].....LOOKS PRETTY BEEFY......wonder what ratios this would have been built with.....car was a convert and had a V-12.WITH AUTOMATIC TRANS.
it had 700x16" tires so as they are tall maybe it wasnt too hi speed?
I can live with 3:50 or higher, but if its a 4:10or sumthing I dont think so........anyone have any reference material on these?THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hey choprods, the Hollander says they have 4.22 or 4.44 gearing. Pretty steep! Max

I've pulled parts off several lincolns of that vintage;all were O.D. and had 4.44 rears. These rears and other split housing rears have the ring and pinion count stamped on the bottom of the center section. I sent you an e-mail about the ragtop parts car;I have a wusty wagtop project I'm building.
