Well, it depends on what model/color it is, also depends on the year. You can go to www.oldroads.com (http://www.oldroads.com) and try to find out more.

Did they have a chromed frame stingray?

I'm pretty sure they didnt, they make lowrider stingray frames in chrome though. Most of the stingrays were candy colored, if it has a springer fork and is original it might be a deluxe or a krate, no telling. But stingrays are always cool, and if the guy doesnt want much I'd snag it anyhow just cause I like em http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Okay, so here's a question... I have a one owner http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
schwinn "Skoot".... what's the story on it? Worth money? It looks like a stingray...

I was in traffic the other day when a new mini van inched it's way past me, on the back, on a rack, was a Grey Ghost(?) and a Lemon Peeler. Badass! The bikes, not the minivan. When I was a kid, I wanted one but got a Royce Union knock-off. It did have a slick though plus it had a neat-oh twist shift 3 speed.

If you Restorer types ever use decals from Hyperformance, chances are, I did the art.

Pyro52 has a chrome frame stingray with schwinn serial numbers. He did some investigating, and he believes it may be a prototype. He was checking around with some local stingray experts and they concurred. Whether or not it really is, I'm not sure and I don't know how you would prove it. I DO know that it is the most bad ass Stingray I have ever seen.

hey zapato how much did you pay? I just bought a Huffy cruiser for 80 from walmart.. I know huffy isn't the greatest quality, but I'm replacing a lot of parts on it anyways... springer fork, apehanger bars, new fenders....
And 80 bucks is a lot better then spending 120 from a schwinn covered in splotchy primer.

I got a good friend that's quite the "Stingray" guy in Chicagoland. He has many restorations and some NOS originals. I'll place a call and see how prices are.

I also got a Bud from my old car club days that has 2 new in the box "Orange Crates". One his Mom bought him originally and one he scarfed at a garage sale. They are in nice boxes still, unassembled. He won't get off even one of them. Loves to collect and sit on 'em. Oh well.

sears spiders were also very cool bike and there were many others that i'm not thinking of right now as i'm tired. go on ebay and do a search under muscle bike and you'll come back with all kinds in many price ranges from cheap to very expensive. as far as new cruisers go i just got a Del Sol Tradewinds Limited silver black with matte black wheels and black walls and it awesome. it's their lower line and was $225 on sale here at the local shop. they are made by haro or so i believe and in the 2 weeks i've had it i've loved it. the wife also got a pearl yellow and white ladies version and loves hers. they have a website maybe www.delsolbikes.com (http://www.delsolbikes.com) if not do a search and it'll come right up. i love the old muscle bikes and lowriders to but you can't go to far on 'em if your a lazy old bastard like me. Electra makes some nice bikes to as far as new cruisers go...ken....
