Ohh thank GOD.....Now I know Jeff is a human. I was beginning to believe that Norwell was Superhuman or Alien or something.
Those oldies look just about like mine - Krass & Bernie/ Trosley style influence all the way.
Wish I could find some of my old stuff. Most of it was ruined or given away.
Wish I could actually finish some of my current stuff just so I could contribute for a change...
I keep getting tattoo drawing requests from friends and AutoCAD requests from family.

way back in 90-91 I dabbled in the comic book field(man...there is an Industry that sucks)
At any rate I got hooked into a indy publisher who rooked me.....here are a few pages of pencilled work.
The story was about a rogue CIA dark op and him ripping off the Taliban(then freedom fighters)(now Evil Incarnate)....anyways....I had to draw a blown chevy powered Lada.....ha ha.....funny now
And oh yea....it was wierd....he steals an F-18 that is Russian....
yea...it was wierd and I got burned.....ha ha

they're gonna run 100$ a pop polished to bejeezis. there's a ton of sanding on her to get a nice look and i had to buy some specialty buffing bits for the dremel to get the job done. gonna custom fab one to have her lay flat on a column shift, most i think would be drilled so she'd be somewhat vertical, though there is enough material from her left cheek up through her leg to mount her flat like a T handle as well.
i like her, hate to have to send this one out tomorrow to a dealer. i've got 8 in wax hanging in the shell room now, and want to cast at least another 8 more. they'll cost a little more to make as i can only get 8 on a tree instead of the usual 16 like i have pictures on evil1's site. this one was a test pour that i did with my single-knob ladle to make sure my spruing and venting would cut the mustard. it did! a bit more of a challenge than the skull knobs, but i enjoyed every minute of it.

Rollie: Thanks for the stripping on 'Mothers Worry', you certainly made the car stand out this past weekend at lancaster N.Y. at the nostalgic drags, too bad I didn't drive better. Your work is great !! If anyone needs a car striped, gold leaf, etc., ROLLIE is your man, a true professional !!!!
Norwell: You posted some pic's from 33 years ago, however; I think you were only two years old at that time. Did you arrive with a pencil in your hand and a pile of talent? Kool art work of 'Mothers Worry', (I'm biased) and the other drag cars are phenominal. Hey Jeff, do you have a bunch of elves working in your studio late at night, how the hell can one guy produce so much kool art?
Jeff & Rollie: I will be talking to you soon.....

whoa.
double wow ...Jeff your amazing and it only took 30+ years to get there:)
It's cool to see where you started from to where you are now with your art!
some people just don't realize how much time is put into a "talent or an ability" and think they could never get that good ...if they only knew the time spent, dedication, patience and hard work behind it all.
Great stuff, as always.

OK, I have not posted anything to the art show in a long time... Thought I would add some hand carved Pinewood Derby cars that my son and I built...
Thanks for the look!!!
Dave Brisco
Dave, those are amazing, great Job!
My daughter (9) and I are racing pinewood derby cars on Sat. night for the first time for an event put on by the all girl car club from S.F. named Hells Belles @ the Shooting Gallery this weekend.
Here's our cars, mine's not done yet and she still needs to apply her racing #'s to the car ...gotta get 'er done today!
she named her car..."Road Rage".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v480/cabphotos/pinewoodderby1.jpg
There's also an artshow/charity/silent auction @ the Shooting Gallery in S.F. as well that night to benefit the womens and children center and here's my donation to the cause:)

Thanks for the compliment!
Your cars are comming along nicely, one word of advice though - ditch those axles!!! Those one piece axles with the plastic hub caps are the absolute slowest for Pinewood racing! Go to your local hobby store and get a set of the nail type axles, then polish them up really good and don't forget the graphite! I promise it will be worth the extra effort.
Nice Job on your cars & good luck at the races!!!

I cannot believe the level of work coming out of these art shows. It is nothing short of incredible. Everyone does amazing stuff and has a unique style. It's cool when you can just see somebody piece and say "yeah thats definitely Norwell". The diversity of pieces while working with the same subject blows my mind. No one is stepping on each others toes. Keep this going.

damn.
Glad you joined in.
You talk about using Photoshop as if it's shameful....Dude - art is art, if you had no talent you'd "eff" it up no matter what medium you use.....
I believe you could rock whatever you want to. It's just a matter of getting comfortable with something.
My art teachers all told me I would make a legendary airbrush artist. Oddly I've never done a single airbrush painting. Just couldn't get past the learning curve - so I never tried. Just give me some graphite and a piece of paper thanks....
And now that I am doing CAD stuff - I feel like I could do so much better with a PC than a set of pencils.
No shame!

its not about the destination, but the ride to get there
i just wanted to give proper credit to "painter" cause thats what i use to do my digital art... see its all good... no offense to the photoshop users out there.:D

The pine wood cars inspired me to post one more. All but the lotus were raced with the Cub Scouts. The black car beat them all the year it raced (Tho on illegal axles. Oh well, it was Ian's first try.) The yellow car beat them all this year. (all legal.) I helped the boys some but then desided I'd build my own, which explanes the Lotus. It couldn't beat a thing last year but this year it took out the winner. Wierd. It features Monogram fenders out back and popcycle sticks up front. Sorry I didn't make thumbnails, I'll figure that out some day...

well it ain't friday no more but i got a few things i've done over the past several weeks. just some doodles i did in my down time at work (in a factory). tattoo flash type stuff i did for my girlfriend. the there is the scrap metal palm tree i made her. she loves palm trees. :D i was so excited when i thought up the idea about the palm tree that i whipped it out in about 2 hours.
oh yeah. and the mail box i painted up for her after her mail lady took out her old one with the mirror of her car.
