......for my friends who care (and Samiyam who hates seeing the same old mock up shots with no significant progress).

I sold my toy collection to further finance this thing. Killed me to do it but haven't missed the toys since I shipped them off to their new owners.

The brake and clutch pedal assembly is installed and ready to go. I bought a steering box and hope to have a Limeworks '40 wheel on the way by the end of the week. The engine went to the machine shop last Friday. The engine tin went to the powdercoater today. (His daughter works there and is a total babe - she has these huge, beautiful, mesmerizing, ....)

Up next.... bolt the body down, install the door latches, and get the steering box/column installed. I hope to do body work in August and paint the sucker in September.

More updates and stupid questions as I progress.

Looking good.

I like that brake and clutch set-up; very neat and functional. I have a pair of '39 Ford B & C pedals for my RPU; I'll have to save that shot for when I set mine up. Nice work!

Looks GREAT. Don't worry about selling collectables to fund your hot rod, recentlyI have sold off things I swore to never part with in order to keep my rpu progressing as I have the FEVER. I had to shell out $400 for a k member because I don't have the balls to build a KILLER looking unit like you did... Nice work on the pedal set up using ford parts.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The pedal assembly is a '51 F-1 truck and the master cylinder is a '67 Mudstain unit.

Nice looking work. What size tubing did you use for the K-member? You'd better hope your powdercoater isn't a hamber. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Shades?!!?? Ratster are you nuts? I'm doing this alone with very little spare time. Remember? Shades was the goal but I'll be happy if I can drive it by Christmas and work the bugs out before next Spring. I'm picky about details - and slow. Spring is realistic.

The K member is some heavy wall square tubing. Some big shit I picked up at the scrap yard for free. It is about 1.5 inches square. Now that you mention it, I need to go back and get some more.

I get a report from the machine shop today on what we need to do to move forward with the 283 build. The powdercoater's daughter should be done with my parts next week.
