I was looking at the oldchevyseller's Thread on Mini Pics and was wondering about forks. I have almost all the parts I need to do a MiniChop except the front fork.

I am knocking close to 300 lbs (damn old age & beer) and need something to hold up the dynamic force it will see.

Can you use a bicycle style fork like Poncho's kickass lo-rider bike.

Will 3/4" S-40 pipe be strong enough?

I have a neck with the bearings for a 5/8" x 7" bolt - should the Triple Trees be 1/4" or thicker?

A lot of questions but really curious dont want to loose any skin or teeth on the initial ride. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Brian

You might consider fab'ing mtn bike suspension seatposts into a custom suspension fork... they's pretty stiff but still give 1.5-2" of travel... $20 on eBay. Been toying with this idea for my dad's powered parachute. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the info - just doesn't seem like a 1" pipe will not flex too much.
