im trying to get several design ideas on a logo for my shop to be put on the out side sign and possibly cards. ive had to expand out of my little single car shop and have gotten a 5 car shop. a real shop. im going to put a sign on the front and i would like to get some other ideas. the name of the shop is Red Wrench Customs and Fabrication. im interested in any designs except hiphop boxcar tags http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and i wouldnt use anyones design with out doing the right thing and making a deal for it. ive seen tons of great stuff come from you guys and i knew i couldnt decide with out trying to get some of you guys input. thanks

i had never thought of the red hot wrench thats a cool pic. and the wrench with the logo is cool especially in red. but the red wrench that was originally cast was a torch, alot of the old guys called the torch the big red whench, like if you couldnt do it with convential tools, get the torch. but its not a done deal after seeing just a few of these ideas. a photo is not what i want to put on a sign or cards, so cgi is the way to go. i just plain and simply cant do it. thanks

I was thinking of the shot I posted as just a visual concept aide..

we always called the torch a blue tip wrench..

anyway the red hot wrench in a fireball with sparks just seemed like a cool idea. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

and your dead on, its the shit but how can, or can, the effect be recreated in a computer generated image? real flames and sparks are hard to dup. even for alot of the most experienced custom painters. i actually went to the garage and burned an old kmart 7/8 wrench and it was cool as hell. can a print shop put that image on paper and make it look right? ive seen guys put their cars on cards and it looked kinda cheesy.

how about a stylized picture of the sun behind the wrench

and a sparkler behind that?

like the wrench is eclipsing the sun on the fourth of July http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

my pic?

that's a rosebud torch hiding behind an old inch and a quarter wrench

the sparks are from the chrome burning off.

I'm really digging Hemi's work. Definately go with one of his designs. He's got ya in the right direction.

Nice work Hemi.
