I am close to ordering a new bed and would like to see some pictures of how much you shortend your bed.

It is going to be a full fendered car, if that helps.

Thanks!

I am not looking so much for how, but how much. I will be getting it already shortend, so I would like to see some examples of full fendered 32 trucks with shortend beds.

I think visually and functionally you should have as much bed behind the rear axle as in front of it.
I think that would end up being about a foot shorter than stock or around 43"-44", (if it's the same length as a 55" Model A bed is, to start with that is.).

12'' out of my 32 bed, It had fenders on it when it was cut and they exited past the bed, but I don't have a photo on my computer. If you have a 33/34 bed you may want to flip the bed sides side to side and take the material out of the new back, former front. Or take a little out of each end.

I shortened my first 34 p/u 10" The shorter wheel base 32 may vary some. I leaned a piece of plwood up against the bed and slid it back and forth untill I got the look I wanted took the measurement and made a new bed to that dimension. The look you want may be shorter or longer than other peoples ideas.

my is shortened to the rear frame horns. i think it is about 18 inches, it makes the bed even front to back at the fender well.
sorry about the small picture.

Mine is full length and will stay that way for function, but I think they look best when shortened so the molding line behind the fender are the same as those in front for a pure rod look or just a bit longer behind if you want a look that says rod-but still- a-useable-truck.
On mine, I want it long enough to sleep in. It's a truck BED, dammit.

Bruce, can you post a picture of your truck. Is it full-fendered? I'm guessing I've seen it but we haven't met yet.

With fenders...usually even with the fender tail or extended an inch past it catches my eye...I'm doin' the 34 that way. The Red 34 with the Flat Motor at York this year did look good untouched though!

Mine is a full-fendered stocker Model B. It is lowered quite a bit (I think by gravity and age, not design) and the only visual mods are white walls and 16" wheels and a passenger car grill. I have no way to post pics, and wouldn't know how if I did...
What's yours like? Mine's only 2 hours from you, and you're welcome to come take some pics yourself anytime!
If this week develops as planned, it will have a 59A innit soon.

I shortened my bed both front and rear to fit estetically. Mack products sell shortened bedsides. They are 55" long.(70 1/2" original i believe)

I can't remember for sure but I think I took 13.5 inches out of mine. It now measures 57 inches from front to back. http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v291/thirtytwotim/26bd276b.jpg
