Planning a 5 week (!!!) hotroddin' holiday!!

Booked a flight yesterday... Will be in CA. from Sept. 29 till Nov. 1st...
One of my buddies from Holland will also be around to visit some friends and we'll hook up every once in a while.

So far I/we have planned on going to:

- Hot Rod Reunion
- El Mirage SCTA meet

- NHRA Twilight cruise
- Donut Derelicts meet
- Bonneville World Finals for a few days
- Bigass Lowrider show in Vegas
- Primer Nats in Ventura
- Long Beach cycle swaps
- Pomona swaps
- NHRA drags in Vegas

And of course to visit some shops etc.

In between I will stay with friends here and there in the LA area, and hope to find some time to ride BMX.

I also wanna go up North a little to check out Nor Cal in between all the stuff above... Haven't seen too much of that area yet.

A collegue/friend of mine also asked to, maybe, ship an El Camino back to Holland. Would be cool if I could pick one up in the first week and drive it for the rest of my holidays...
If not I'm planning on buying an old piece a shit to drive around or somethin'... A rental for 5 weeks is gonna be a bit too much I think...

May sound a bit rude but... Don't know if anyone has a ride standing around in the LA area which they don't use too much... Don't really care what it is as long as it's safe to drive. I'm willing to pay for it to "rent" it!

Sounds like a fun trip... 32 Limey has just returned to the UK following a 3 week trip here. I talked to him several times, he visited a LOT of shops etc, sure he can give you his list of places to go, people to see!

Maurice, I see that you will be in Vegas for the drags. If at all possible, you should see if you can extend your stay by a little bit. Reason being that two days after the drags is the beginning of SEMA at the Hilton Convention Center in Vegas. If you have never been it is a MUST. The biggest candy store for gearheads in the world. Let me know if you want to go and I'll get you your passes.
Incidentally, where are you staying while you are at the drags? Perhaps, if you can't do SEMA, we can get together while you are there to yak and swap stories about our car adventures.
