Would a late 60's chevy van front axle, off one of those old flat front vans, work for a gasser style axle in a 5-6-7 Chevy?? What did they have for a bolt pattern? Anyone ever use one of these? Any steering problems?? Any and all insight welcome........

well if you want to use a old axlethey have king pins and bushings i suppose you could get them indexed right so your caster camber would be where you need it to drive it with out the wheels leaning over ,, you would want to rebuild the axles ,the steering arms are short but you can use newer up to 69 tie rod ends they are longer and bent up at an angle so you wouldnt have such a long drop pitman arm or bent draglink,i think a after market or a ford van axle would be better choice ,ust my 2 cents

The bolt pattern is 5 on 4.75, same as chevy car. Not sure of the width tho.
I couldn't be without my van. I always laughed at them before I got one but it's indispensible! Lock your shit up inside, sleep in the back, tint the windows for privacy, haul your harley...whatEVER!

Rocky, That thing is just begging for a couple of heart shaped side windows and some panel lace painting. Check with Fat Hack for complete specifications.
Secretly I like it just the way it is. YOu did a v8 conversion on it didn't you? They are one of the easiest transplants going.

a buddy has a 454 under the dog house ,kind alike ALICE THE GOON trying on a size 3 shoe, but it fit,i had a stock mint 67 ,six wth 3 on the tree, until my brother forgot it was a manual and jerked through the stop sign and got it's nose took off,so kind of hard to find another theses sitting on the axle vans are hilarious to ride in

Frank....since the photo was taken, I swapped to black tires [bigs and littles] and have bought a full set of chevy car ralleys in 15X8 with the 5 on 5" bolt pattern. I'll stick a set of flat cop-car caps on them.
