I'm looking at buying some old pickup front sheetmetal from a guy in Lewistown, MO. I think that's north eastern Missouri. Anybody going to be traveling from that direction to central Kansas in the next few weeks?

kerry,
that sounds like the guy that kustombuilder bought an "A" pu bed from last fall. i picked it up on my way to chicago and handed it off to him there. lewistown is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours away from me in the opposite direction from you. it's between me and chicago. scarliner may be the closest hamber to lewistown, but it's still quite a haul for him, too. i don't know of any hambers near there. lewistown isn't too far from hannibal/quincy. i don't have any plans to head that way any time soon. if ya get real desperate i maybe could go get it and store it here 'til a hamb relay can be arranged. currently i don't have any kind of hauler other than an el camino, though, so it would depend on how much tin you're talkin' about.
pm me if no better offer comes along.

what kinda car is it and where do ya want it took?
I might be in a position to help.
Kerry, if you can tell us what it is that you are getting, and if Choprods can get it near me, I could maybe get it close to Emporia.
I do not know just exactly when, but would be pretty soon.

It's an ebay auction for some REO front sheetmetal Fenders, grill and hood, bumber, radiator, headlights.
Here's the link.

I'm still sort of debating if it's worth it. I've just about wraped up negotiations for a mid to late thirties Chevy pickup. Been bugging the guy about it for a year but I think I'll get it all for around $75. The cab is nice but the bed has been trampled buy cattle and most of the front sheetmetal is missing. I'll have to do a bunch of slicing and dicing to make it fit, but I kind of like the look of the REO grill.

Well, I just bid. Let's see what happens.
The goal is to make this pickup something that my son Travis (7) and I can build together. Something he and I can both learn on but something that he can take ownership of. Hopefully we'll have a running car by the time he get's his license.
I'll figure something out if the HAMB relay doesn't work out. I'll find a bunch of other goodies if I have to make the road trip. ;-)
BTW I going to be out of town this week for work. I should be able to get back on the web Tuesday.

Just got back from my week long work trip last night. I didn't get the REO stuff. Thanks for the response anyways.
