First of all it's at a all ford show so anything any year is allowed as long as it's a ford. second this is the off topic shit that pisses Ryan off.
If that guy metalflaked it, I beamed it and ran drag slick you'd all be sucking his nuts

That's great! Looks like crap but... Those extended fenders looks real dumb. Should have tucked it under the cowl.
I'm a Fiesta fan; used to road race one (SCCA). I've got a real nice Arizona car sitting here, and I was toying with the idea of a RWD V8 conversion (when my ship comes in, or when social security kicks in, whichever comes first). Someone out west developed a drop in RWD V8 kit for the Focus that's really cool (for a late model).

Well, it's not at an all Ford show, it was at the Hot Rod Power Tour. And it it is a home built rod, with "vintage" fenders even, so it shouldn't be too big of deal. Thought you might get a chuckle. At least I got a rise.

Dude, with 7 posts you put up a pic of that POS?
This is related to traditional hot rods and customs HOW? Help me, I can't make the connection.
If that gives you "a rise" you're just a damn weirdo. Michigander, you may be a weirdo too.

The guy in the middle is Butch Larson out of Nebraska. Met him at Goodguys 2 years ago, and he asked me to scan some old slides from 1955 and make prints for him. Gave me a ride in flatty powered 5 window with 1961 blue & white tuck n roll...

Dave, your HRPT photo coverage was cool. Saw alot of buds cars from around the country.... and a few HAMBers cars that they don't talk about on HERE http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I also enjoyed your BilletProof photos and copied a few to print personally for myself.
I do have a question for you. You just mentioned scanning some slides. I have tried to do this and they didn't turn out. I have a TON of old slides from my dad that I'd like to scan and print. How'd you do it? Would you fill me in on the secret to scanning slides sucessfully.

Hi Denise, is your scanner set up to do slides? I had to buy a new scanner just to do it. It has a place in the lid to hold negatives and or slides, and it magnifies the image. Email me off the board if you need anymore help on that. BTW, you were way cool in the burn-out competition!

Thanks for the kudos regarding Big Olds's burnout. It was the most fun I've had in a while with my clothes on. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
No, my scanner is not set up for slides. I have seen the ones your talking about in the stores though. I was just trying to see if I could get mine to work with slides. Oh well, one of these days, after I don't need any more stuff for Big Olds, maybe I'll spend the money on a new one.
Thanks again for all the cool photos http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Fiesta's were real popular in the UK, I used to work in a speed shop back there, one customer had a rwd V8 Fiesta that he used for tarmac rallies...man that thing was insanely fast! Powered by a Rover (Buick) 215ci V8
And our boss was 3 time European Rallycross champ in his 2.3 liter BDX powered Fieste. Bout 260bhp! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Dave - You've got some great photos on your site. Do you have the old guy's slides up there as well? It wasn't clear to me which album they'd be in.
Oh, and you handled your abuse with grace. Just so you know, sometimes the off topic stuff chokes the board and pushes the hot rod stuff down quickly, so the guys tend to get cranky when they see late model stuff pop up here.
It's all good, though. You can make amends for this post by starting a fresh, hot rod-related post titled, "Which is better, fiberglass or steel?"
Heh.

We had the similar dimensions early 80's Toyota Starlet running a Rover down here in OSCAR (pretty much unlimited class) road racing, the thing had also been hillclimbed etc was owned by Roger Freeth and last I saw had a big Tom Walkenshaw rover V8 in it and kicked arse (like all kinda big block arse).
So back to the topic, why would ya do it ??

I've got this funny looking Model A with 4 headlites I'm fixin up. It has this funny looking engine with the plug wires going in the middle of the valve covers. I want to put a 350/350TH and a Mustang II front end under it and paint it red. My question is, which 19" Boyds wheels should I run? And where can I get a billet dash?

that guy built an traditional rod,he did just what everone back in the day did .he built what he could with what he had.he put his ideas to work.and did it his way .i dont like it but he does and thats all that matters .what you think the first time someone chopped and lowered a 50 merc the guys with the open wheeled cars didnt say thats not a real rod ,and i know theres a dif between rods and customs.instead of using the term traditional rod, wouldnt era correct be better ,would this car be excepted if it was painted flat black and red wheels and white walls ,it looks more like something out of the late 70s or the 80s not trying to piss anyone off .but look at it diffrently! oh shit gos!
I know of Darby from the Hobby Heaven model car board. Good fella, awesome source of pictures!
Back in a late 80's HotRod magazine, is a small article about a Fiesta with a Toro transaxle in the rear, SBC hooked to that, and vette rear suspension. Vette brakes on the front too. Pretty wild car..
