View Full Version : Springfield swap?
Does anyone have the address of the swap meet in Springfield on Friday?
I need to Mapquest it so I will know where I'm going and therefore, I need an address or street intersection.
Thanks, Robert

That sounds cool....what time did you guys leave last year?
I second that motion! If ya'll don't mind me cruising with you in a late model pickup.
I will be leaving my trailer and HA/GR at the Ramada and heading that way sometime that morning after breakfast.

I think we left at 8am last year. Is that too early???;) :D
REJ, not a problem, you can pull up the rear and pick up parts that have fallen off.

Thanks for the info everyone.
I tried to confirm the date via Google a few days ago and basically got nowhere. Now I can go ahead and make my motel reservation in Springfield for Thursday nite.
For those of you who haven't attended this swap - its a good one. Tons of stuff and pretty reasonable prices (for the most part). Plan on spending three or four hours. Don't worry about finding the Fairgrounds. Everyone in Springfield knows where its at.
See ya there.
P.S. Hope you don't get rained on again this year Denise!
If anyone finds a 2 5/8 S/W water temp gauge - buy it!

If your driving up from Joplin to Springfield, the exit for the Ozark Fairgrounds is one of the first ones and clearly marked as such. You just have to follow the signs, it's less then one mile from I-44.
Ryan, no problemo, we will all keep our eyes peeled for one.

Cruise to the swap meet at 8am Friday morning sounds great to me. I usually don't buy much but actually seeing real auto parts at a swap meet is worth the price of admission. Ain't many actual car parts at most swaps in this area, unless you looking for 70s & 80s Camaro/Monty Carlo stuff. Gene

Or snow mobiles and 4 wheelers, right Gene. LOL
Can't wait to check this out. Damn I might have to drive the late model again this year or trailer something. LOL
Denise i think you ment to say the I-44, not the I-40.Dont want some out of towners getting confused.

Hey I'd be in for the swap cruise. Since Fat A Bone and his crew isn't going to be there this year I might even be sober by 8 am. Gary
Based on my past experience there is this stuff in that area of the country called rain. It does fall from the sky for extended periods of time and this Arizona kid is bringing a poncho this year. Last year there wet rat pictures posted!

I used to spend 2 days at this swap before I found out about the Drags! Now its all day Friday and don't come close to seeing it all, then up to Joplin early Saturday morning! It makes for one very cool weekend, the one I look forward to all year!

I mentioned in another post, I could plan a trip around old Route 66, from Joplin to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. You could take the interstate on the way back if you want. It would be a more interesting drive than shooting up and down I-44. Would anyone be interested?
I'm game for it on they way over to the swap meet. I'll be pulling up the rear as I will be driving my pickup.
I've got my spaces reserved. Same as last year for those that stopped in.
Q 086/Q 084
South side of the Fairgrounds a couple rows south of the "water closet".
Should have my T pickup on the trailer so I can fire out Friday afternoon straight to Joplin.

Any of you guys coming here have a 2 groove water pump pulley for a 348/409, or supposidly an early 283/327. I am needing one and would love to buy from someone here. Also, it would keep me from having to look thru the junk for one!
Thanks

Fairgrounds.....I44 and Hwy 13 (Bolivar, MO) turnoff. Go left....Thru the intersection above the interstate, then a right turn at the first corner. Down that side street maybe a mile or less. Biig parking lot on the left. 5 bucks or so to park. Lotsa vendors......all over the place. A friend and I plan on going Saturday morning. Ya'all have fun. Bob
