I am a longtime lurker, first time poster.... I'm a goldchainer and love traditionally styled cars. I want to buy stuff really cheap from the classifieds and try to make a buck off of it instead of using this board as it is intended. Currently I am working on a chopped and channeled PT Cruiser. I painted the firewall white and added WWW and red steelies. I know I'm cool because my mom says so....

I can't do this with a straight face....

Actually I am a thirty year-old in Dayton Ohio. I work in the automotive supplier industry (OEM-nothing too cool)I have a daughter and another on the way.... I do most all of my own work in my cramped 2 car garage...Currently I am working on a 28 Pontiac. It used to be a sedan and now its a tub... When I bought the basket case, i didn't quite get all of the parts with it, so I used what I had. It isn't a period correct piece, but I feel it captures the flavor. Here it comes... SBC, 200R, Ford 9", 6" MAS dropped axle on stock parallel leaf springs front and rear, camaro brakes front, stock ford rear, vega steering box.... It's not the fastest or quickest or best looking thing around, but it tickles me to no end running 75-80 on the highway going to or from work and getting the thumbs up from some little kid or the blank look from their soccer mom and dad in the SUV or mini van. Currently I am just driving the hell out of it, and playing with making a fiberglass hard top (Traditional? Yeah, I guess if Ed Roth played with fiberglass, I can too, just not as well). See the HAMB auction... That's a fine piece compared to what I started with.... I didn't chop the oval window, I cut it off, it was a lot easier!

I have a 1966 Buick Skylark convertible. It's an older resto job but is a fun driver. (300cuin V8, 350 tranny, mostly stock otherwise) Not totally relative to this board as I didnt chop it, section it, lower it or put steelies on it.... but it was primered with flames and baby moons in the mid 90's before I painted it.

My other toy is '88 Harley sportster... I painted it a few years ago, and I think this winter I am going to change it, I'm not sure how just yet...

Maybe I can learn something here and teach something here... Bring on the responses... As soon as I figure out how to paste a picture here, I'll show the Pontiac to prove I really don't have a PT or am a poser.... http://
