Who had the Early Eddie Meyer water heated on HAMB??

About a year ago someone sent me post pics of the early style Eddie Meyer water cooled intake on hear. Does anyone have one or have some pictures of them. I want to see the water inlet on them. Thanks AARON SAVAGE

A friend of mine made the water manifolfd for me. It's close to what the original looks like. Mine came with factory finned block off plates for racing. If you want a picture of them let me know.

At the risk of sounding like an ass it's really water heated and not water cooled but you knew that.

If you have some time, DRD57's picture site has a picture of a 32 B-400 that is running the early manifold with the hoses hooked up for street use. It was at one of the So. Cal events last year or the year before that. That's a lot of pictures to look through. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The B-400 would be easy to spot.

My buddy is an artist with a Bridgeport mill. Notice that the hoses hook up underneath the manifold. It would be simple to make plates with hose connections on the individual ports.

The later model reproduction manifold uses the standard exhaust gas heater system I think. I've never examined one but that center pipe is there for some reason.

Savage: the only water heated intakes that i know of were those by eddie edmunds. he made them for various engines. i have a late 30's eddie edmunds water heated 2x2 on my flathead powered dry lakes modified, but i doubt it ever got posted here. wish i knew how to do that here, but maybe one day i'll figure it out.

What problem does heating the intake solve? Don't you want to keep the carbs/fuel cool?

For racing you do want the air/fuel charge to be cool and dense. For better street performance most all manifolds have exhaust gas passages to heat the carbs and plenum.

I'll post the racing block off plates tonight. I took the pictures and left the camera in the garage.

Savage, I know a pic is what you want but if you want to see one in person, I know a guy in Covina area with one on his work bench right now. I just fondled it this morning(the MANIFOLD, perverts!). It has no name on it but looks exactly like a Meyer inverted-slingshot. And we're pretty sure its pre-war.PM me if you want more.

I bought the intake with the top manifold that doesn't have the logo. The vendor tought some idiot ground it off for polishing. Later I found the lower manifold with the logo. This is the first time I had them both together.

I noticed tonight that they are different. The fuel pump stand bases are different heights. Definately different castings. My original may not have been altered after all.

Homeresque, if you see that Eddie Meyer again measure the height of the fuel pump stand please. You said it had no logo. My no logo measures about 1 3/8" above the deck and has D8 stamped behind the generator mount. The logo base is much taller. I was just looking at the fuel pump stand this morning. Its the lower one. His has the water connection unit and it looks just like that one, the fittings come out the bottom.
