OK, a family friend will be there with his 36 Ford 5-window. This car is an origional 60s built car. It is damn near perfect now. Unfortunatly, he is going to repaint it bright red after this year.

I need everyone who is going to Indy this weekend to find this guy and mention how cool it is now, and that he shouldn't paint it. Just to get my point across.

Yes, I know its his car and he should build it his way... but with a little suggestion...

...actually, he has 2 other gold chain rides... this one needs to stay this way! (Notice the tell-tale red windshield frame)

Ask him if he is going to remove the T-bird Y-block and put in a SBC!!!

I always thought I wanted a red vehicle till I got one. Now I wish it was almost any other color. You go to a show or cruise and you get lost in a sea of red. Don't do it. Enjoy the aged look. Not everything has to be slicked out like a show queen. The rougher cars at our local cruise always have bigger crowds around them than the chainer style. Much to the chainer's chagrin. LOL

The car looks good to me. Lots of people are faking the look his car has. I would tell him to park it next to a nice shiny red one and see wich one gets more attention.

Exactly! He was at a rinky-dink show over the weekend and people were swarming around it. (It does look cooler without the hood!) Guys with "nice" cars were shocked at the attention he was getting

He didn't win any awards, but he won a lot of hearts!

One more vote to leave it the way it is. If he paints it red it will loose all of it's character and just fade into the background, that would be a shame for that car.

It will be a LOSS to paint it....

My old 40 Ford was a lot neater before the rear end collision.

Now it has new bumpers, recovered running boards, and shiny new paint. I went ahead and put some new upholstery in it too (the wife wanted beige.... I wanted RED...she won...she paid the $$$ )

I would leave it the way it is,
but I wouldn't hassle him if he really wanted to change HIS car.

Unfortunately, we are WAY behind schedule, or I would hunt him down and park right next to him.
