Hello everyone,
I'm newly registered to the H.A.M.B. and look forward to chatting with you all on the forums.
Anyhow I wanted to stop in and introduce myself and my newly acquired "toy". I'm semi new to Wisconsin, so any leads on swap meets and such would be great. I've been working on 50's style cars for about 25 years but I'm new to the T's and have lots to learn.
Ok now for some info on the T.
No, I didn't build it. No it's not finished. It's a mix of 25-42 parts, here and there.
It's built on a titled 1925 Ford Model T chassis with a 1927 Ford model T body, the top was removed as it wasn't salvageable due to damage and rust (same with the original doors).
The body was heavily channeled and reinforced with 1x1 tubing for strength.
The original 25 frame has been boxed , plated, and braced for added strength. It was Z'd 15" in the rear with a late model GM 10 bolt rear end. The front is 39 Ford front beam with 42 spindles mounted solid to the frame  (something I'm soon to change). Steering is the traditional style.
It has a 350 crate motor and 350 trans installed in it now.
There is a HUGE list of changes I would like to do, especially after reading up on the archives, but 1st up is the safety issues, mainly the front suspension. I'm thinking of using a Mr. Roadster I beam with a reverse eye spring behind setup with the hairpin style radius rods. The only issue would be welding in a 3" round cross member for the spring perch. I should be able to keep my current spindles and brakes. I've also been looking into an air ride setup or the semi -elliptical spring setup.
thx,
Mike
