Best tech post I've seen in months.

Using an old part to make a new and most classy part.
Very impressive.

Gonna chrome em?
I hope so.

Once the car is up and running you're gonna get a lot of those, "Say bud, where can I get some of those?" kinda questions.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

bolted them down today..

drilled the brackets and clamped them to the frame,

used them as templates to drill the frame

Paul
06-06-2004, 07:46 PM
drilled the frame out to just big enough to knock a 9/16" head 3/8" nut in,

chamfered the holes,

used a piece of all thread on the nuts to protect the threads during welding, help square them up and to push against the inside of the rail if I drove them in to deep,

repete for all bolt holes,

cleaned the weld up with the grinder and bolted the brackets on
