Introducing... The Asphalt Invitational Car Show

Hi all--

Wanted to let you know about a new Hot Rod and Custom car show coming to the Bay Area this Summer. The Vultures car club will be presenting the 1st annual Asphalt Invitational at Holiday Bowl in Hayward, Ca. on July 10th. Our plan is to do a low key, low buck, back to basics show thats more of a car show than a carnival.

The Asphalt Invitational will be a pre-registered event, limited to 150 cars this year. Guidelines are the familiar 1964 and older, traditional styled Rods and Customs only.

If you are interested in entering, vending, offering a raffle prize, or just coming to check it out, please e-mail me or drop us a line and let us know. It should be a lot of fun...

The Strangers deal is indeed the next day. I believe they are offering a BBQ show discount if you come to our show on Saturday. We also have discount hotel rooms so you can make a car weekend out of it!

We've got something special for the people that attend both shows. No discounts since our show is only $5 per car. But we are going to have a special raffle for the people who attend both shows.

We have rooms set up at the La Quinta Inn in Fremont, right in between Hayward and Cambell. The rooms are $59/night + tax & all rooms have 2 beds. Here's the info:

Props to The Vultures and all those who are making this possible. The Holiday Bowl in Hayward is a great place to have a car show: Covered area, bowling, food, large hall, and it seems the whole place hasn't been touched since the late 60's.

Its an invite deal, so just e-mail a pic of what you want to enter, and your mailing address, and I'll send you an invite- Its $15 to register, but you get some cool goodies for that price.

The show is Invite only, so email a pic of your pre-65 ride, and we'll wrap.

Cake- Looking forward to seeing you. Please send pics of the rides your bringing, so I can send you invites. Cars that show up the day of the show will have to park in the overflow. The show spots will be all full when we hit 150 Pre-invites.

You going to both shows that weekend? I can definitely make it, but since I'll also be fixing up our new condo during July I suspect I'll only be able to make one day or the other. It'd be nice to get out and meet some other HAMBers.

When we hit 150 PRE registrations, we're cutting it off. The idea is to keep the show to a decent size.
(I'm thinking there's going to be quite a few non-reg cars parking in the overflow lot that day.)
