That's right kiddees! I'm putting up my prized 232 cu. in. flathead 6 banger engine, 3 speed tranny [open driveshaft], complete charging system with a new 6 volt battery and the driveshaft. Hell, I may even toss in the original rear axle. I think it's a 4.30 gear.
The engine runs like a top but has a puff of oil smoke on startup and after it idles for 10 minutes or more. Prolly use a set of new valve seals. The rear main seal needs replaced! Those old rope seals need to be replaced now and then. It's all clean and painted and may have been gone through in the recent past. Has a new water pump and an original new carby in the trunk. It appears to have a new fuel pump too.....even has the vacuum pump on top of the fuel pump to help those vacuum wipers function up hills. The regulator is new and the charge system worked before I cut the frayed wiring off.
The top loader 3 speed is in good condition with synchros in 2nd and 3rd gears. This is the old poncho/olds/buick "select-a-shift with only one linkage rod going to it...should be easy to fab up a floor shifter to make it work..
Great setup for your rat-rod, rockabilly, primered-with-red-wheels and wide whites- gow job.........
I'll remove it from the car this month [June] and the winning bidder can score this treasure at Omaha, Nebraska.
I WON'T SHIP IT! hasta be picked up here by 2nd weekend of July or I'll be forced to keep it for my next lakes modified project... Picture it with 3 little side drafts and tube headers...chrome acorn nut covers and all!
The auction works in the normal way with all the money sent to Ryan for the HAMB... [almost 11,000 posts, guess I owe SOMETHING!]
When he gets the money, he lets me know and you can come to claim your schtuff! The rear axle goes with it too but I may not have it ready for you until later in the summer. Axle is a little wide at about 60 inches and has a 5 on 5" bolt pattern.... good luck and feel free to contact me for any details. Who'll start the bidding?????
