I got you covered Jay... heh.
I want to try some of the stuff they bottle in Dublin TX. The R E A L stuff.
"
What makes us unique? Besides being the oldest Dr Pepper bottler in the world, Dublin Dr Pepper also has the distinction of being bottled with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar - the original Dr Pepper formula."

supposed to be really good.

Ziegen Bock? That Anheuser-Busch-brewed swill? That stuff was a copy cat of the one and only Shiner Bock! Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Repeatedly?
Just kiddin, bub. Everyone has their own opinions. Even though yours is obviously wrong and mine is obviously scraped out of the bottoms of many many many many pitchers of Shiner. :D

Eddie,
your trunk is going to look like the bed of my truck does every year I go to
Chicago for the Pileup. I have a bed full of Lonestar for my Minnesota
friends.
The good news is I will be rolling the ElCamino this year which has a much larger bed. I will also be able to take the Raffle motor with me when I win it.

Tman,
I'm close to Joplin and know that some of the Liquor stores and maybe even, dare I say, Wal-Mart carry Shiner Bock. The one I can't find close enough is Pearl Beer from Tehas. Gives me an excuse to got to Tulsa, though. Nonetheless, there are mass quantities of Pabst Blue Ribbon around here for $6.14 a twelve if in a pinch.
Cheers

I confirmed today that Mayes Drug Warehouse carries Shiner both in the cooler and on the shelf at $5.99 a six pack. There are 3 Mayes in Joplin. From the Ramada Inn go north to 32nd St., turn west and go several miles to Main, turn south and it's on the right, or go north on Range Line to 7th St., turn west about 3/4? mile on south side, or north on Range Line out of Joplin to Webb City, the on the left side of road. Both the latter locations are on the way to Smokin' Mo-Kan. It appears Mayes carries a bigger stock than Wal-Mart. Let me know if you need any other info.
Cheers again,

Thanks man, thats a lot of legwork for beer for a dude you dont know!!!

Bock is only one of many delicious varietys of Shiner!
There's the Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Dunkelweizen (my 2nd favorite, but hard to find), the Blonde and Light (nevermind on those last two), and my new favorite, the 98th ann. brew "Bavarian Style Amber."
There's nothin' finer than a swig of Shiner!

Good thread. I went to the Spoetzel Brewery (where Shiner is made) on tuesday. Shiner is only an hour away and during the week while we were in college we'd head down for the tour and free beers then up to Lockhart for BBQ. Texas rules.
I suggest treating the yankees to the Kolsch. The perfect Shiner brew on a hot day.

Anyone who wants to throw a little business toward a fellow HAMB member can stop into Horton's Liqour on East 4th street in Pittsburg, KS (a short 15 minute drive from Mo-Kan) and pick up truckloads of Shiner for $9.49 a 12 pack!
