I'll be there for sure. Look for the goon wearing a ratty green pith helmet driving the big old "school bus" yellow F1 pick up with Gilmore Oil Co. logos on the doors.
See ya'll in Palmdale!

I'll be there, chopped pith helmet and everything. Wayno
That rodz insane, Are you aloud to register cars like that in the US? In oz we have really tight rules on what can and can't be built. Down here if it's fun they either ban it or tax it

I just relized that Pomona swap is that day.
Hoping that I could make both.

On Sun the line-up starts at dawn but gates open at 8:00. The club promises to improve on the illogical chaos that was last year, when tech-inspection was located just inside the entrance gate causing EVERYTHING to back-up. Hopefully it will be back to the old way with tech located far away. It usually ends when it gets so windy the track blows away.
Sam, I'll be looking for my free lunch.
Mitch, see you at the gas station.

It's running about the same... 10.50's.
I don't know what the elevation is... but I would assume the car is going to run in the 10.70's maybe '80s'. We added a radiator in the bed... a pump and a fan... AND an alternator... sooooo, all the wieght may slow us down a bit, but no more than a 10'th.
But the added benefit of getting the motor and tranny up to temp before the run... and having 14.5 volts going to the MSD instead of 12 will help us out a little.
Our plans are to pull the motor after Palmdale and then I am going to go through it all... new rods, pistons... and CAM... should run high 9's then... maybe quicker. Then comes the Enderle injection and alcohol... we'll ditch the cooling system and the alternator then... and run 9.60's... maybe quicker.
But with that comes the $200 chassis cert... a parachute, new rear axles, and licensing from the NHRA for me and my partner Tim. Probably $1500 worth of crap. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
But we're having the time of our lives! The thing has to be driven down the strip, which is fun...
See you all down there!
Sam.
