Today, I got both front brakes on the old 41 Poncho of mine and ran it around the neighborhood a bit. The rear main seal on the old flathead 6 leaks REAL bad! I was hoping a little running time may help re-seal it again but it aappears to leak ever worser!
I pulled it back in the garage and tried one of my new e-bay 48 pontiac [with Bob Drake '50 glass lenses] tailights. I like it better than the stocker square 41 lights, myself. What do youse think?

It's gonna take a little filing and grinding to get the tailight's bezel to conform to the 41 car but I think I can do it ok. The hole for the 41 light will need some filling too. Sorry about the funny brown caste in the photo. I think the camera batteries are getting a little long in the tooth. Here's a close-up

The Round ones flow better with the body lines! Much better than stock.

That's what I was thinking....why would a company put a square tailight in a round car? Looks completely outa place IMHO... I guess they thought so too in '48.Here's a photo of my old 48 Torpedo back with my lil brother sitting on it eating a nice peanut better samich...

I had a Torpedo back just like that in the 80's!!! But my younger brother had a 1/4 barrel with a faulty tapper explode in the back seat!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Would've preffered my brother if he had the Sandwich instead! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like round.
Not the same car, but the same lines in this pic.

Definitely the round ones Rocky. They flow better with the lines of the car...like was mentioned before. I also think a set would look good on Mikes '47 if he frenched 'em in a little bit.

French them, but instead of tunneling them in, weld a ring of round stock out around them and build a little lip of the body out to them.

When Cleatus talks, I listen. I'll follow your advice. Thanks.
