I have a 63 Plymouth Valiant and I'm looking for Bullet Lugnuts.

I bought the "correct" set from a vendor at the Big 3 swapmeet, they are marked 1/2-20.

I painted my wheels today and was all geared up to pop my new lugnuts on and they don't fit. I'm looking for a vendor that has them and the correct size..

here are a couple pix of the new wheel color...

Thanks!

I do not claim to be a Mopar person.............but my mother-in-laws 1966 Dodge ( long since gone to the JUNK Yard ) had left hand and right hand thread lug nuts. Maybe the 63 is the same way ???

They did that LH-Rh shit at least into the 70s.

Never did get a good explaination on WHY that would be necessary.

It was right hand / left hand. - It's been changed out.

The 1/2" are just too big.

Some hyper-active engineer decided that the lug nuts wouldn't back themselves off due to centrifical force was the story I got on why...

A big Mopar guy told me it was the keep the lugs from backing off. With the RH and LH stuff.....the lug thread was always turning reverse what the wheel/rim was turning so it would lessen the chance of the lugs getting loose.

True ...??? I do not know...but it makes sense....... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

<font color="green">If the 1/2 are too big, you probably need 7/16-20's.

Can't help you on the where part though.

maybe you'd have more luck if your post title was "need help finding bullet lugnuts" not "help finding a part" http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
