The purchase of a Mopar crank from the carfarmer led me here; I've got a couple of hotrods so I guess I qualify. I know nothing about this place other than the rules I just read; guess I'll find out.....

I was just pondering the purchase of this particular ride, for shock and humor value.................

So, now we know who to blame... :D
Welcome aboard. You've got a neat/fun ride there, but its not a traditional hot rod.
Good luck! :)

Hi y'all, I just checked and found this thread had some replies. Some older pics of my ride are here: www.tonybob.com/pacer.html (http://www.tonybob.com/pacer.html) This was with the iron-head 451 that ran 11.29 @ 120 instead of the Indy head 511 roller motor that's in there now. I'm a lifelong dairy farmer, 5th generation, and this car was literally built in a barnyard. Only thing I "farmed" out was the paint and machine work. I don't have any pics of the Stude, but will get some up. It's just as I left it in 1967 in the garage. Runs ok but needs a lot of work. The Pacer is definitely a crowd pleaser, whether at the drags or a show. Currently, I'm working on a 73 340 Magnum Charger; not a hotrod, I know, but still sick in it's ugly beauty. Later-MG

A Pacer! Ha Ha, Hee Hee! Had one - yellow with black vinyl top and red big-n-littles. People either loved it or hated it BUT it always got a smile or a chuckle. I gotta know - how many shoe-horns does it take to stuff a RB into that tunneled firewall? The in-line 6 was a tight fit!
Anyway, both my sons got their driver's licences in that "fishbowl"
A local guy runs a Gremlin, 360 Dodge engine on the street and 1/8 mile. Yeh. It is respected.

I gotta know - how many shoe-horns does it take to stuff a RB into that tunneled firewall? The in-line 6 was a tight fit I recessed the firewall about 4" for the width of the engine, and built raised tunnels into the floor to acommodate the headers. Hood latch delete because of the carb; I used brackets and lynch pins beneath the cowl. A small plate bracket bolts the tailshaft to the rear mount, and solid front mounts bolt directly to the stock location on the crossmember. Hedman standard B-body headers fit with no issue on the 451; the 2" Hedmans for the 511 are heavily modified, and required the crossmember to be notched. A milodon rear sump off-road 4X4 pan is also used. As far as width goes, the engine looks like it belongs there. Didn't they make a few 304 powered Pacer X's? Never had the opportunity to look at one tho.
