View Full Version : The new American Rodder (anybody see it)
I picked it up last night and there's a few pages on Paso. This Dave Hill seem's like a very opinionated fella. I couldnt figure out if he was complimenting or shitting on cars?
Pete-
Pete, we hashed this over about a month ago. Opinions are one thing, sitting in the corner making smart ass remarks is another. Poor piece of writing by anyones standards.

If thats the same Dave Hill that used to write for Custom Rodder, what else would you expect. The guy has no feel for costoms, for instance,a 58-60 Bird w/Ansen Sprints and milled center caps???? Or how about his 34 Buick w/some kind of late 60s or early seventies hubcaps(Ifoget what they were) painted up to match the car!!! Gentlemans HotRod? WTF!

He used to make those computer drawings of dumb shit like a 57 Chevy with say a 51 Chevy fastback roof on it or dumb shit like that! It was always clear that for all of his ramblings and opinions,he has nothing to do with real hot rods or customs.

What?
Do you want a traditionally educated, cocoa skinned, brown eye'd handsome man, maybe like Nads, to do the writing?
Or did you mean
"I wish they would use a little more color in there, man."
or, then again maybe
"I wish they would use a little more color in their magazine." http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
What MONTH ISSUE (besides "the latest issue," that means nothing) is this we're talking about?
I think I gotta get to find out what my Gray Haired GURU actually said! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
DrJ,
I do believe the issue referred to is the July 2004 issue
with the BLOWN 'N FLAMED... coupe on the cover
and by "color in their man" I assumed he meant they should hire writers with a little more,
uh,, journalistic flamboyance..?
