A 78 yr old guy knocked on my door about an hour ago. He had no idea who lives here, he only knew that his daughter told him there is a 26 Ford and a 31 Ford on the front porch. He had many Model As when he was younger and he wanted to talk old cars. Of course, I recognized the old guy immediately. I bought my first car, a 1947 Mercury from him in 1967! I still have the Mercury. He told me that he got a factory rebuilt Model A engine in 1961 and never used it. He thought he might get an A that needed it but never did and is now too old (and too poor) to build another. I told him I would like to buy it. He says its at his 91 yr old brothers house out in the country with other parts (a frame and who knows what else) Its about 50 miles from here. I am going to his brothers house at 8:30 in the morning!

We went there today. The old guy was very friendly but didnt want to go out in the rain and dig around in the 4 barns. I looked thru one--lots of old car parts. We agreed to go back another day. I got pics of the remains of a 29 and a 30 CC pickup under a shed.
