most everything I know about cars I learned working on "Monster Garage," and despite what Jesse always said, I do know how to change my oil; in fact, I've even tuned up a car or two over the years. I had the great good fortune to spent 2 1/2 years in the Garage in Long Beach working on the craziest ass show, and meet and learn from some of the true car masters. at the moment I'm trying to sell an old jalopy, because I don't have the time and/or resources to do it justice. my father-in-law gave me a 1960 Buick LeSabre convertible that I drove out to L.A. from Washington, DC. everyone said I was crazy, but I hit it in 4 1/2 days during the winter of 2006. it was a great drive. my next one, when I have time, will be a bit lighter, and not a convertible. I prefer a chop and a section over topless vehicles. now I'm working on "Mythbusters," and every now and then we get to mess around with cars. I went to look at a car to buy, and the person selling it told me about the HAMB, and I'm happy to have found it.

Hey Dude, what's up? I live kinda near Echo Park thought I'd say hey.
I wrote you once already but the site kicked me off. This time Icopy/pasted ha ha Fuck I'm so pissed cause I don't type! I turn wrenches!
O.k. so I just signed up also but I've been reading the blog for a few years. It's great!
Anyway Welcome I also work in TV (graphic artist), But I'm a Carbuilder at heart. Fan of Jesse James, his work and my girlfriend loves Sandra Bullock. Not a big Monster Garage fan (auditioned once, before it went under) Congratulations on M.M .
What kind of car are you looking for ? I'm on Craigslist religiously start there. I found my 98 Toyota PartsRunner and my 49 4dr Merc.
If your stumped though look no further than your Prius! Rip that Turd shaped body off that Electric-Skateboard chassis and graft on a chopped shoebox (you familliar with a shoebox?)and Viola! You have a true custom. A hybrid sled! Don't forget the carpool stickers those are already a collectors item.
For inspiration look at the New Paso Robles picture thread. Check out the Sam Barris green Mercury and remember he chopped that when it was a year old.

I've had the pleasure of being friends with quite a few of the Monster Garage guys, and maybe we've even met! You're Tod Mesirow, right (judging by your screen name)? Anyway, nice Buick -- '59-60 GM passenger cars have always been my favorite.
