Whats a model A rear end worth? nothing, right?

All I know of are jack stands. Every old shop has to have at least a couple.

Put a vice on one side,use the other to hold a Shot Bag.

I would put it on e-bay if it is any good, might be surprised. An old wheel and a piece of pipe & plate makes a much more stable stand.. I have jackstands I made 40 years ago from model A axle housings, I don't use them much, cut up a bunch of good stuff back then, sold for scrap metal. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The best use I ever saw for one was tipping it up so the passenger side was on the ground and bolting it to the driveway near a water spigot. The top one got shortened a bit, and a 90-degree bend of muffler tubing was welded in, with the bearing flange welded to the end of the muffler tubing. Then a wire wheel was welded to the bearing retainer, and viola! coolest hose real ever.

I didnt think they were worth a cent either, but earlier this year I was at an auction where several of these rears were available.. they were selling for big bucks to these restorer dudes.. meanwhile the pair that i have are home holding up my vice..

The value is in the brake drums, backing plates, and parking brake shoes. Put them on eBay, make a stand out of the rest.

ok, i'll pull the brake drums and other crap, and instead of tossing them down the ravine, i'll ebay em. otherwise, this thing is a vice stand. David
