"view first unread" function

Ryan, this feature is kinda flaky. I use it a lot, and sometimes it drops me several posts before the last one I read, sometimes it's a page or two AFTER the last post. Not a big deal, but if there's a way to tune it up, I'd sure welcome it.

I'm not sure if this is in the same vein, but I've noticed on a few threads (including this one: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182365) that when viewed in a list of threads (such as all my posted threads), it shows 3 posts when there are actually 4.

I was going to ask about this 'cause I'll skip over a thread if I think I've already seen the post it's showing as the latest.

What I find happens is I'll come back after a day & there'll be five pages of new posts to wade through. I'll read through a hot thread on page one & by the time I get to page five, several folks have replied to that hot thread, so the next time I go look at it & "view new posts", it appears it skippsed some.

I don't think it's a glitch, I think it goes by when you log off, not when you last read the thread....

...just a guess though.
