I have to say this first, that was a great time and a great get together!!!!
Larry, Kim and all involved.. thanks once again for all your hospitality..
We had a blast.
Sawzall, Tok, Boones, Clark, Lulabelle, Spike etc (there were so many HAMBers there i'm sure i missed someone..sorry) ....it was great to meet the guy's i didn't know and see the ones i did again!
I know there was a lot of HAMBers that i didn't get a chance to meet, hopefully next time.
Running my truck around the track was a blast!! I wish didn't wait for the line to die down..i missed another chance. I waited to long. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Our ride home was interesting..when we left, i think it was around 6:30 or 7:00 ish i was tired to begin with.
But we headed out with a smile on our faces from a great show and burnt necks from the hot sun..
We ran into an bad accident on Rt.15 around 9:00. They actually shut it down and detoured everyone.
That killed about an hour or so from our drive time..but we
finally found our way back on 15 north..
No real probs except a slightly stuck throttle linkage on Dans blown 32 chevy. Quick fix and off again.
All is well.. til we hit one HELLOVA nasty storm toward the end of Rt17..
We were at a crawl..i pulled the truck into first just to keep it running it was raining so bad. We HAD to pull off and wait some of it out, you couldn't see any part of the road!
Seems we headed right into a tornado watch! Tons of lightening, black skies, and some of the heaviest rain i've ever driven through..in a 'normal' car..
Well, we made it home this morning right around 2:30-2:45..
Loooong ride with some white knuckles at the end.
Anyway, we're glad we went, happy we made it home in one piece and gonna come back next year!!!!
Here's my pics from the show.( i screwed up and didn't get any shots of cars on the track..except Spikes old C-dan getting yanked out..i was too busy watching 'em i guess)
I'll start with the museum.
