I'm new here and haven't seen your Chevy. Is the Vicky glass or real steel? Finished interior, Ford or Chevy powered?

Looks cool Jim- BUT I dont like the frt crossmember clearance myself.........Paint might be a point of differences in opinions. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifHell I dont care its your bussiness!
350/350, I really do not know if it is glas or steel.
The exhaust is under the car, one of the first I would have to change(run it through the frame.
Interior is not fininshed, but seats are covered and the insullation is in.
37, attached is a shot of the 62.

What does Judy think??? That 62 is pretty comfy for her to ride in, the Vicky might not be as nice.

I've always loved the look of the 32 vicky. More room inside (Of Course I'm tootall 6'8" tall and 265 so inside size is important seeing I'm a driver not a tow'r)
If It trips your trigger go for it. Glass or steel it's a personal thing.
How much work does it need to make it your own? Is it worth it to you.
Bottom line is it's your call.

No one can gauge the value of your car from a pic.
Those Vickie's are cool and somewhat rare, I think? Not a FORD guy so don't beat me people.
Anyway, I think what you ought to do is just buy that Vickie and give me the 62.
It's a win-win!
RASHY
P.S. I vote you will be sorry if you do it.
Denise, Judy is not too keen on the trade, but she said it is my decision We will see.
She is going to be able to feel comfy in the new 1947 Ford Coupe I stole from Roothawg.
The 32 is not going to be too hard to make mine, just headliner, exhaust and carpets.
Maybe a little color sanding and buffing.
I didn't mention, but I would be getting some cash with the trade, enough to make the few changes i think I need.

If your 62 was a belair, I'd say "No way!" If it's a fairly fresh vicky [no doubt a Glass body] I'd road test it. If it drove out ok, I'd hafta go for it.
Then again, I know you're no longer a spring chicken and a big 'ol comfy impala would prolly be easier on those bones after a long trip.....like all the way to the Hamb Drags from Webb City...

Jim, I guess I've missed seeing your '62 before. It looks like sweet one. If you were to sell the '62 how much would it take to get you to part with it? Now, How much would you be willing to give for the Vicky? Is he willing to cough up the difference? In the end It's your call (and the wife) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Rashey, that is an angle I had ont thought about.
Crease, Mutley, you make a strong statement for keeping the Impala.

Keep the Chevy.

Well...obviously you like the car to have even considered it this much, Vickys are cool and it never hurts to move on to another project. You can put your own personal touches on it like you did the Chevy, like getting rid of that paint job for starters.

go for the gusto...go for something different. I would consider the cash value, if you get the "Vic" paint it the way you like, re-flame it and run!!!

I know for a fact.If you have to ask what others think, then don't do it.You have to be real excited and know in your heart it's right.I just went through this and I have no regrets.I knew right from the start that it was the right thing to do.You should know this already.

Haven't you left out the part about the Chevy having a 409 in it?
Or did I dream that whilst I was RAPING your 62 in my sleep?

I'd have to keep to 62 myself. Short of a major cash infusion, I can't see the Vicky ever being as "right" as your 62 already is.

Jim it be hard for anyone to say with out seeing the Vicky up close, but I have seen your car and It's one of the cleanest and straightest cars around, it be pretty big untertaking to duplicate what you have, if you ever wanted another one.

Jim,
Might as well throw my two cents in. I have never been a big fan of 60-64 Chevys. That may be because that is what all the rich kids drove when I was in high school, I had to drive a 51 Ford tudor,(sure, it's cool NOW). http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
But your Chevy is about as perfect as that year chevy can get, and Rashy is right, a picture doesn't do it justice.
Vickies are one of my all time favorite rod body styles, but I am not sure if it was me I would trade, guess it would depend on the cash difference. I also know a car gets to the point that you no longer have anything to change or "finish" and you have an itch to start the next one.
Hell, I don't know, do what you want. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

IMO keep your Chevy.
Rashy, it is just one of those loly small bock Chevy's
.030 over,Crane .484 ;ift.224 duration both ex and int.
Hyperneutic flat top pistons, 750 cfm Carter afb.
Trans is 350 with manual shift body, 2300 stall 'verter.
Seen one, seen em all.

Does the vicky have an IFS?
There are an awful lot of shadows under the front.
If is is IFS, keep the chevy. If the front end is more traditional, I'd park at my house.

I love fenderless 32 sedans! I would have done some things different, and would change some things but I like the car. I'm afraid your not going to be happy with the room and the ride. Since your working on a your other project I would keep your '62 to have some variety. What would happen to your saying; Billy G, Troy & Me?
If you decide to make the trade I would like to have a ride.
Below is a picture from the Stray Kat 500.
Happy Trails,
Mick
