Won't the sixes be classed as B/hotrod ?
So they'll be limited to 13.5sec ET's until then will they?
This is what you guys were wanting, right?
If I understand this, now you can run at their meets and have been sanctioned. Congratulations!!

Yeah it should mean that the boys can race thier cars at any meeting in the Modified category and not just at Nostalgia meetings.
Fair speed difference though between the cars though.

Cool! But what if you run faster than 13.50,do you go into AA/Hot rod or are you out?:(

Nah, what happens is that AA/Hotrod (or AA/HR) is for blown V8's, A/HR is for NA V8's, BB/HR is for blown sixes (or fours) and B/HR is for NA sixes and fours. Double letters signify a supercharged car.
If they run faster than 13.5 they'll get in trouble at this stage. ANDRA is pretty strict on safety violations. Running quicker than 13.5 would basically see you disqualified I reckon.
But normally Modified is a dial-in class for Altereds(MA), Dragsters(MD) and Hotrods(HR) running a minimum of 10.99sec. So the HA/GR cars (or A/HR as they will be classed) will be running as fast as 13.5sec while the quickest cars will be running in the low 7's. That's going to make for a hell of a speed difference in the top end.
I'd hate to be in a HA/GR car if it was getting clouted by an out of control AA/dragster travelling 80mph faster. Lets face it, that has happening the past but with a lower speed differential and it's still messy.

Admittedly the "fit" is a little off but it is at least a class. As a first step (and they've already scheduled a review of it) it's phenomenal, congratulations on opening a door down there.
Very nice indeed, kudos.

Thanks Guys yeh we done good the 13.50 cut off is for now so if we all behave ourselves we will get the nod for an 11.99 limit at the moment our fastest car only runs 14.1 so we will let the rest catch up and then drop the ET limit.........
Thanks Again

In summary (for you guys on the other side of the world), what it basically means for us is that we are 'accepted', and can now race regularly (as opposed to just specific events), and we're effectively being recognised as a 'package' or group of our own, foot in the door kinda stuff. The next review, will hopefully allow us to better our times, and potentially be given our own nationally recognised class....that is a massive thing for drag racing down under.
We're not we're we want to be just yet, but this is a massive thing for us, bit at a time...chipping away, sending drag racing back 50 years:D
Cheers,

Keep up the good work, somebody needs to show the people how it was when racing was fun.

That will never happen as we will be running only against other HA/GR cars as a group we wont be on the open Market against cars quicker than our cut off

I thought the whole point of the HR classification was that some guys wanted to run their cars are normal meetings as well as Nostaligia meetings.
I agree, at a nostalgia meeting all the HA/GR cars will run together and there will be no real problem. However I was under the impression that some guys wanted to also run at normal bracket meetings.
Personally I'd rather run just at nostalgia meetings, especially at WSID. Who wants to cram in there with 300 other cars at a big meeting and get treated like crap - at least Nostalgia meetings are fun. :D

The Point of a clasifacation was to be fitted in somewhere for ANDRA reasons no other so as we could run at ANDRA sancioned events
Like say 8 of us wanted to go to a bracket meeting and run together in our own bracket we could without being up against sub 12 second cars
Remember the reasons We started this down under in the first place was to have fun with our mates and run a car on a very low buget that just about anyone could afford to go racing and be apart of a bracket that is more fun than a barrel of monkeys

Your last paragraph sums up the whole reason for our cars.
If it isn't fun, go buy a boat.
