WOW looks like all i can find are big trucks .
The motors in these f-5's and f-6 s appear to be Y-blocks w/ massive air brake pumps ,would that be on the lines of a 312 -292 like the cars had ? I would think the 272 would be too small ,then again this is a 52 .THANKS

If it has air brakes, it is a F-7 or F-8 and then it would have a 317. This is the overhead that replaced the Lincoln/truck 337 flathead V-8.

My dad has a 52 F-8 with the 317.

Reminds me of "Mr mom" 220 221 whatever it takes .
This could very well be that model ,w/ the size of it .
Turn it into a rolling bowling alley ,or have a football game on it. its just huge .The air brake set up looks almost like an old air compressor motor w/ swap cooler pullys, and a belt like a model A .THANKS ..

The 52 F5 originally had a 239 V8 or 215 6 OHV.
The 52 F6 had the 239 V8 flatty plus 226 & 254 6's, both flatheads.

Lots of other engines were swapped in such as the 317/341/368 Lincolns, Ford Y's and even the 279/302/332 Lincoln derived Y's that were the Big Truck motors starting in 55-6. They all bolted up to Ford trannys so the swaps were fairly simple and done all the time.

As far as brakes, the vacuum booster was a standard option on both models 1948-52 and is particularly common on F6 dump trucks.

The 272 wasn't out until 1955, it almost didn't happen. When Ford found out about Chevy's new 265, they stroked the 256 a bit to get a 272. I guess there was no replacement for displacement! hey i need a truck [317 322 etc] oil pan and inner and outer pick-up tubes rear sump. not a y block got one?
