59 GM throttle problems ????????????

I have run into a little problem with my gas pedal on my 59 Caddy. The hinge or whatever it is that connects to the floor is no longer connected to the floor, the eyes for the bolts are busted and look unrepairable, the pivot point(hinge style thing) is frozen and won't move. The previous owner had a door hinge rigged up and claimed it worked. Does anyone know what the interchange would be for it. Or any aftermarket throttle I could rig up?

look at later model hanging throttle pedals that bolt to the firewall and adapt it to what you have for an actuator.
either a solid rod or a cable type.

Look at 70's Datsun pickup, they have a real nice firewall mounted gas pedal that can be adapted to just about anything with a flat firewall. They are set up for a cable, but you could make it rod if you want with a little creativity.

Or just go to an old car junkyard and find a similar era GM car to see what it has if that could work.

I have a 59 and 60 Buick, and they both have the pedal attached to the floor with a couple studs that have a round ball on the end. Is that what you're talking about? Are the studs gone or is the back part of the pedal gone? Or both?

Fraz the base is pretty much gone and the pivot point is frozen. The linkage is in no way related to the firewall, underneath the base of the pedal is a rod that comes out underneath the floor and pretty damn close to the trans. And about 5 feet of rod linkage and 2 or 3 pivot points later you reach the carburetor.
