O.K. I'm figuring with all the wares I haul about in the Olds currently that one day I'm going to have to part with some $$ to buy something with a bit more space....... so I was wondering anyone in the same situation what do you use ? got any pics ?? I know Barnett has a van and Sam has an old Panel from the speedshop, what else are folks using ? I'm leaning towards a late 50's early 60's Chev/GMC Panel but in reality I may not have the spare $ for something like that.
Show me some pics.

Sweet,
Wagons are cool too, specially the 2dr variety, the 58 Peddro is next too was too much $$ might keep my eyes open for an early Holden one locally either that or get into the A R/PU (o.k. so it would carry less then the trunk of the Olds......).

Also ideal for camping.

If that's a legit UPS truck, it's very, very rare: they have always had a policy of crushing their retired vehicles, so no other companies could buy them and confuse customers.
Very, very cool truck. I always thought a truck like that would make a great swap meet wagon/out of town camper type deal.

it still has the UPS brown paint and gold leaf pin stripes. The person I talked to about it said "he didn't know how it got out of the system but that body was used from 49-54. has skylights and a low entry step and wide door in the rear (half the width of the truck)
The youngster I gave it to. plans on a new chassis running a rebuilt 5 cylinder mercedes engine and trans that he has. he also wants to polish the whole truck like an Airstream trailer. that's what dreams are for

Glad to see this thread come back to life. I've been a truck guy for most of my hot rod life. These have come and gone through the garage...I can't seem to keep anything for long.
The Suburban was too nice to use as a tow truck for the Comp Coupe.
The 1941 Chevy COE Panel is a one off that Coker Tire thought they needed.
The 1927 Hudson Hearse was converted to a 7 Pass limo.
'37 Ford Box Van was used to haul fiberglass to Swap Meets.
'52 Courier had a 289 and went to a fellow in Chicago.
'60 VW Kombi was an every day driver in PA.
'38 Ford REA delivery van was very rusty and wound up being junked.
'46 Chevy SD had a small block and was sold to a gal in Ohio.
'57 Chevy Step Van was going to be used for Swap Meets, but was sold to a guy who exported it to Puerto Rico to be used by a remote Fire Brigade.
'42 Fiat Furgone sedan delivery was the second body out of the mold. As bob said, not much room for hauling. Now lives in Ill.

ALL original 283-granny gear 4spd.
Was a hippie bed room on a commune in Utah until 1989. My friend put a battery and clutch in it and drove it home to Chicago. Still had Purple velour walls when I got it.
I used it as a work truck (electrician) for 3 yrs. Traded it off.

EyeBone, it's a 38 Chev. Bought it from a guy who was 90 yrs old, came to Tex from Cali in the 60's with the car. Had an old SCTA sticker on the window when I got it. He told me some cool stories about the good old SCTA days when he was doing that thing we all wished we could have been a part of. I took out the glass and saved it.

Im curently working on a 1951 mercury panel. Ihave a 51 ford pu that is getting plucked for the panel body. ashamed of how it looks now because i took it down to bare metal and preped it but its alredy turned red . I own a upholstery shop and needed something that when i picked up seats or a headliner i could keep them from blowing out. plus theres plenty of room for some neat logos It also is great for kids, i took a seat out of a mini van also the floor latch system, they had belts made n and you can easly pop it out for those large loads. I like all old panels and for some reason the new hhr's are growing on me. keep your eyes peeled the 50's ford panels they are usually fair priced and parts are pretty easy to find. great pics everyone makes me want to get mine on the road.

Let me correct my friend Hip before this thread gets out of hand. The panel was a 53, last year of the two piece windshield. It now resides with a lurked over in England. I remember when I first got it. We had to drag the body onto a trailer, because it was tore down to nothing. Bare frame, bare body.......

This is the best picture I have of one which sits on my friend's father's land. For the past 30 years, he's collected about 40 cars that he's "going to fix up", but I hope to get this one eventually with enough convincing that it's not worth the astronomical amount of money he thinks it's worth.
