How do you get your Rank

Just curious no big deal but how do you get your rank I know everybody starts as a FNG and moves up but how do you move up? just curious again just curious

If you are that concerned about upping your rank you can pay the $50. to become an Alliance Member,,,, or skip bathing for a couple weeks. :D
