After the "new" HAMB was released, I noticed that after 10 min. or so of inactivity, you get logged out automatically. You have to re-log-in to post. You may lose everything you typed if you don't cut and paste it first.
Some of us at work pull up the HAMB and then get side-tracked doing, well, WORK! :)
Sometimes, I am reading the HAMB, and follow a link to something non-HAMB related, I come back to post, and BAM...I have to re-log in! WTF?
Then there are the posts that garner some thought, and research. I see them, begin posting, and after 10+ minutes, all of a sudden I lose everything I typed (unless I copy and paste) only to have to start all over again because I have been inactive and I have to re-login.
I am really irritated by this new time frame I am expected to get all my thoughts in to. This time constraint only contributes to shoddy responses; and one liners...because people try to cut corners in their informational responses when they are trying to beat the clock.
I have responded to people, with detailed descriptions of things, only to be told that "you need to log in again" because too much time had elapsed. Guess what? If I didn't copy and paste what I wrote, I lost it all.
If I didn't re-type it all, it becomes the poster's loss, not mine.
I guess what I am saying is the time allotment to post needs to either be lifted or changed to be more generous, because it's WAY too short in my opinion. I spend 10 minutes writing something, and I am logged out automatically???
BTW...
I submitted this and got the "blank white page". That never loaded.
It was only after going back to this original thread that I was able to post this...luckily I cut and pasted this before my time ran out...
You can see people's frustrations...
UPDATE 4/24/07: It may have something to do with security settings in Mozilla VS. Explorer...or a software change...who knows. I have been running Mozilla for over 4 years now and never experienced this problem, and never changed any settings after the HAMB revamp.
