I mentioned in my belated intro last week that I was going to spray the dreadful yellow out on my coupe, and that I would post a piccie or two when done.
The shell is now done, just the hood and trunk left to do. The trunk lid has had to be taken off and completely stripped as it reacted really badly when I tried to spray it.

Hey Ratboy, I'm Great Barr born and bred, it's just difficult to type with an accent. Oid Sownd sumfink loik this, ar reckon...
Briggs, 'cos it's being sprayed out in the drive, I'm using cellulose (lacquer). It's been really warm this weekend and the paint has gone on a bit dry in places, but I've managed to buff it up with G3 and T-Cut to a nice shine. Though to be honest, I'm not one for washing my car so once it's got a coating of road muck on it, nobody will notice any dry bits.

Ah! good ol` black paint, ya can`t beat it.Spent saturday morning cleaning crap an` bugs off of the roadster after last weekends trip to the spring nats then took it out up to the lakes today and resplattered it with bugs.WTF.
You`ve got a real nice lookin` example there, whats under the plastic?

The plastic is covering a standard-ish four-banger. It's got a 94 on an Ansen, a header, modern points and a Winfield head on it's way from the US. Next Winter it'll get a cam.
Last week was the first SpringNats I've missed in four years. Last year was so poor I said then that I'd not go for a while. As it was, I used the weekend to work on the A. I hear Drayton Manor has really put it's prices up.

I figured it must have been a four under there judging by the size, sounds like a good set up.A friend of mine has a stock as a rock 29 RPU that he keeps saying he`s going to yank the banger and fit a v8 flattie. If he gets round to it would you want the motor/gearbox?I could ask him if your interested.
drayton was down on cars this year due to the bad weather forecast. The price to get in was £8 and a full English with a large tea was £3.50, so I did`nt think it was bad.If you wantedto get into the fairgrounds etc that is another story.I managed to get Simon Watts to stripe my car so it was a good day....if it comes out mine is the black roadster with the freshly striped ass.

LOL Rich...
It's going to be close as to whether I get it done in time. There's still a load to do on it, but it's sooo near.
And anyway, you'll red-light one day..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another thing, Rich. Who's going to sponsor the Meltdown if Nordian has ceased trading?

I'm working by backside off to get it ready for the Nostalgias in July. If I miss that it'll definitely make the Hotrod drags in September, though I'm aiming for the first meet. Here's another picture of it as I bought it. Some people should not be allowed anywhere near a spray gun and compressor.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
