Hello, i'm living in france and old' ford parts are very hard to find on this side of the sea . So i bought f1 steering box and column on ebay.
Now i'd like to know what kind of steering wheel and pitman arm can i use with ? i'd like to use 11/16" tie rod end for my draglink.
i need your help, thanks
I can't verify this for sure but I was recently told that the early Volkswagon Vanagon pitman arms fit the early Ford truck boxes..

Bonjour Poisson-chat!
I believe late 40's car pitman arms will fit but I stand to be corrected!?!?
Don't know what the limits are for wheel selection.
Back to the first page for ya anyway mon ami!
Someone here will know your answers. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

To my knowlege, a '32 will fit perfectly. Anything "32 is hard to come by and expensive so I'm using a '35-36 pitman arm on my F1 box. The only problem was the orientation was off about 45 deg. I had to use a rat tail file to modify the flat spots on the splines to get the arm clocked correctly. Works fine now. Not sure about other years.

I don't know what my pitman arm came off. I believe the F1 unit has a ball attached to it that would need to be removed to accept a tie rod style end.

If your steering box is the larger '53-'56 box, the '59-'60 (and possible the '57-'58) Ford pickup pitman arem is a direct bolt-on and accepts the early ford tierod end.
