I think the y-block was dropped in 62 or 63, but you could get a fe or smallblock(289) in 65.

I'm showing that 1964 was the last year for the Yblock in a truck, they were phased out in the cars even earlier.

Probably a 352 (FE).

The only V8 offered in F100's in '65 was the 352.

They're tough, I'll give 'em that. Apparently you can build a pretty stout engine out of one too, but it'll cost you.
I had the filter loosen up on mine before I swapped to the SBC. I lost all the oil, the engine pulled down, then locked. I coasted into a gas station, found the filter just about ready to fall off, spun it back on, added 4 qts of oil, and the damned thing actually started back up...
It knocked like a bitch all the way home(15 miles!), but it got me there.

Dixie,, ya FlamedAbone is a fag..... Oh you were asking if it was bagged, no, just down... if it wasn't for me bitching at him everyday while we was building it, the turck would have say another 2 or 3 inches higher.. he was worried about the driveability... its a damn work truck.. who cares it is scraps a little over big bumps...
It is actually a really good driving set up..
Flamer, I guess I need to take another pic of it for you so you can have two... wash it before Hot Rod lunch tomorrow and I will bring the camera

Yeah, my 65 had a 6 cyl. with a 3 on the tree when I got it in 1972,,,,,,,,,several engines and a top loader 4-speed later and a wreck that was deemed a total loss,,,,,
was a custom cab ,,,all trim on the drivers side was destroyed ,,,,soooooo,I dechromed it and shot flames,,,302 w/t a 4-speed,,,,,,,,,,,,,drove it like that for a lotta years,,,never changed the rear(real low) so I wore out the engine and it has sat in the barn waitin' for another lease on life!,,,,,,,,
This is how the truck looked in 1977,,,,,
