This year the P38 Lightning is the feature Airplane...!
Let me know if Lefty Gartner's P38 is there...! I know he's been rebuilding it for some time after the crash and I think it's close!!

Enjoy!
That's quite a collection they've got down there. Not just at Maloney's outfit, but all over the airport. More neat, expensive toys than you can shake a stick at.

kool beans! man, if you can get a good pic of a F4U Corsair, I'd like to see that....
I have an aquaintence back in Ozark AR that was part of a group that had possession of Pappy Boyington's corsair...I am not sure of what all happened to it, but there are a few of them that have been looking for it, I cant seem to find anything about it online....probably made into Diet Dew cans by now....

Yeah, I've got one out a P51-B. But as it's one of my prize possessions it's not for sale, sorry.
Never made it to Oshkosh yet. Been to Reno a bunch of years; Madera back when they had the Gathering of Warbirds, and a bunch of other shows up here. Used to work ground ops. at the Boeing Field airshows back when I was involved with the Corsair restoration. But Oshkosh, thats on my list for one of these years.
Chino's got some neat stuff, a friend of a friend used to volunteer for the Planes of Fame and gave us a personal tour of the airfield years ago. Somewhere I've got a picture of a much younger warbird sitting in the bf-262. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Neat airplane!

Isn't that the P38 they dug out of the Arctic and restored? that plane is amazing and the story is even more amazing...I'm partial to the B-17"s myself..That was the first model plane I ever built "Memphis Belle" I love WWII anything...

You like warbirds you MUST go to RAF Duxford and Hendon in the UK. I went to Duxford last year and arrived one day prior to one of their big airshows. Pulled up with my wifes uncle, get out of the car and promptly get buzzed by a Sptifire that was on the deck, man this thing came right over us!! It flew over the field doing all kinds of crazy moves for over 45 minutes. Next thing you know we get buzzed by a P-48 flying jug what a FAST big awesome plane. I'm telling you you MUST go see this place, oh yeah the massive tank and armour museum is damn cool too, they even have a rotary tank engine which is 5 flathead mopar engines arranged around a big old common gear case setup. My dad flew Lancaster bombers in the war and Duxford has the only flying example so it was a kind of religious experiance for me. Chino is an awesome place to, one of my dads buddies has a jet fighter restoration business out there and as a kid we used to go there all the time even saw them building up and restoring that ME 262...Have fun guys wish I was going
