......So I dug deep and sprung for a set of 3:54 gears from speedway yesterday(for my A coupe/37 rearend)(Cheapest price)....and asked the lovely I-800 lady if the set included a install kit..(shims,gaskets,etc,etc)....she said no, I just get a ring and pinion.....O.K.....do you sell the kit separatley?, I ask......"Uhh,no,I dont see it in the catalogue"....O.K.,I will find what I need elsewhere(read:THE HAMB)..Do I need a center section rebuild kit?....Who,where and how much $$ .....
Does Vaphead sell this stuff?

Can't leave you hanging. Never seen a complete kit. Never took one apart. All the suppliers can furnish the parts. Joblot, Mac's, C H Moss, etc. Expensive. Guy here in town has a lot of NOS stuff. Moved here from Cali. Valley Ford Parts. Bill Norton. 830 896 3269 FWIW Andy

The ring is adjusted by using gaskets of various thicknesses. I've purchased gasket kits from MAC that has several color coded gaskets that vary in thickness. You would also want to replace the inner axle seals while you are at it. I've never seen shims inside on of these like the ones used in later model rears.

There is really nothing to rebuild in the center section unless you install new bearings and races. You also want to check your spider gears for severe ware or missing teeth. The pinon and the ring gear just unbolt.
