I think I have avoided this for about two years now. I have been reading the HAMB, but never posted. My name is Steve .. and the proud owner of two ford 4doors! a 49 and 50 (and yes I actually preferred the 4 over the 2.) I try to drive the 49 everyday, its primered black, lowered 2 inches, wide whites on red rims. I have a Flathead from a 51 merc in it currently. the 50 is a project that is sitting in the garage (doesn't run) I have probably met some of you already. I used to be Glendale's roommate. .. and my question that I need answered ... Does anyone know which Ford Ranger rearend I can bolt up under the 49? thanks

Welcome from another newbie!
My next door neighbor has a Ranger. I think it's a 91 model. I can sneak out there with a tape measure. It's already dark here (watch for snakes!), and it's sposed to rain all tomorrow, so maybe in a couple days? I'll let ya know what I find out.

YOU SHOULD BE FINE WITH ANY OF THE PRE 94 REAR ENDS !!! I BELIEVE ALL THE NEW BODY STYLE RANGERS WILL BE TOO LONG !!!

Why the Ranger rear?.. I thought the 8" Maverick rears fit those cars.. I would think they would be stronger...If I'm wrong, sorry!
Welcome to the HAMB!!

Thanks all for the info, the website was great! I wasn't sure but remember reading something about a year ago that C9 wrote about the rearend swap. I will definitely check out the maverick rearend.
