Are we saving bandwidth by using large thumbnails to click on and then getting a pic that has been downloaded to the HAMB data base?

I know, I'm a touch illiterate about these computer gadgets, but looking from here it seems it would be the same in the end vis a vis bandwidth.

It would be nice to knock out an article - tech or otherwise - and download pics that would open to a reasonable size.
It would make for a quick and easy read.

I do it now by using Photobucket, but that's a pain in the ass most times.

Anyway, if bandwidth wouldn't be affected or affected too badly, any chance we could have direct opening pics?

I am actually working on a feature very similar to that... I hope and pray to have it done in about 45 days.

C9--

thumbnails use about 1/10th the bandwidth of full size attatchment pictures. Each time you open a thread, all the thumbnails load....if they were full size, bandwidth would go way up, as all those full size pics would have to load.

It'll be interesting to see what Ryan comes up with :)

Mr. Ryan, looking forward to it.
Sorry about posting on the main board - forgot about this one.

Thanks Squirrel.

I wonder if quoted replies could be set up so loaded pics and thumbnails could be dropped from the reply?
Maybe that would help.
