I was in Asbury Park, NJ last Sept for a small get togethor and this guy approached me & asked if i wanted my car photographed for a magazine...i said sure what magazine, and he says Club International...i think "i've heard of that", then i realize its a porn mag...so i say what the hell, why not...here are some of the pics from that shoot done in front of the abandoned Palace Amusements...BTW, Asbury Park was once a very popular Jersey shore resort town that fell on hard times and is virtually unchanged from the 1960's..some real interesting stuff to see...bobhttp://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/599715

merc what are the colors on your merc. custom mix or is it some thing you found ready mixed. i've been looking at purple colors for the wife's 55 plymouth and the darker color on your merc is close to what she wants for the roof and scallops on the body for her car? i saw the exact color it i'm looking for it was a factory color on something, but that was a while back and now i can't find it. i had all but given up and was just gonna mix the colors out of candy concentrate and orion silver since the lighter color will be a lilac so light it's almost silver. anyhow babling over...ken....

thanks guys, i appreciate the kind words...Luckystiff, the colors are coral pink done in centari with HOK pearl purple mixed in...the full effect of the pearl is not there because its a single stage paint, but it definately changed the color some...the scallops are HOK orion silver 3 stage with HOK pink pearl (put on as a second stage over the color) ...BTW, the coral pink is a Ford color that was used on early to mid 1990's Probes...

Ha Ha, yeah, i wasn't sure what to think when i heard it was a porn mag...its weird, Club International does a car feature every month, and if you turn to the pages with the cars, you would think it was a car mag, no sign of porn anywhere...the car features are done by a company called Drag Racing Underground...Oh, btw Haring, obviously there is no mistaking me for a porn centerfold, i guess http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif, i wasn't too keen taking a pic with the car, but the photographer insisted...thankfully that pic did NOT get in the mag...bob

Hey Slag, whats up man???!!! for this year i am hacking the quarters off a putting on 56 packards i cut off a parts car in Carlisle...i'll work on that during the summer, and then over the winter, i'm gonna rip the whole thing apart and fix some shitty spots on the body, and repaint it...good to hear from you, man.....bob

It's sad to see those old parks go. We had one here on the Pacific coast called the Playland in San Francisco. As kids we'd spend the whole day playing pinball machines for a nickel, or running around the "Fun House". It was a building filled with rocking, crazy steps or spinning tunnels you would stumble through.

That's a killer fastback slope on your roof. Lots of work in that car.

Thanks guys.. hey Mike, it is kinda sad to see how the town ended up...but it is really cool walking around there, like a land frozen in time...when we went down for the show, we had lunch at a Howard Johnsons on the boardwalk...this place was too cool, a circular style building completely unrestored with original metalflake upholstery on the booth seats...its like we walked back in time......
