All right...for the hundreds of HAMB members...I have decided that the 60 X 100 HAMB building should be in Oklahoma, probably Tulsa...centrally located.
I will help with layin the concrete slab and the carpentry. Also I am gettin good at electrical wiring.
Who knows where the cheap piece of land outside of town is?
Found two Model As in the last year that would love to be re-animated in a nice big co-op shop.
We could do it.

how about a dissassembling/assembling line? it could span several states....start it in OK and it could end in Marathon.

just remember: it needs a bowling alley, a shooting range and to be a smoking area in its entirety.

Land is pretty expensive out here, but I still think that it should be in Lemon Grove CA.

The LGC.. haha!

Can you build an apartment in this shop for me to live in? I'll be your night watchgirl...

The Tulsa area works for me. Plus, land here is dirt cheap. I could use a place to hangout and do what ever at anyhow. My appartment gets boring after a while.

I think there is a vacant lot block or so down from the Continental Club in Austin. That way entertainment & beer will be close by.

What is the purpose of the HAMB shop? Is this for business or recreation? A HAMB shop would be nice to have here. Are you relocating or what? There definitely is a HAMB following centered in Oklahoma. Land is still available all over. South of Tulsa in Sapulpa, Glenpool, and Bixby areas should be reasonable. Those are near and on Hiway 75.

That's a hellava lot closer than TULSA! Since when is Tulsa "centrally located"? I was gonna suggest fab32's garage. It's already got everything we'd need! Tools AND parts! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Look at a map, Tulsa is prety much in the center of the US.

But maybe, if HAMBers want to set up a "Club House" kind of deal. Maybe it should be set up for each major location. If there is a concentration of HAMBers in your area, see if you all can agree on a regular spot/shop to all get together, hang out, work on cars what ever else you might want to do. If its a rented out garage, split the rent costs between everyone to cover costs of keepingthe place open and with power.

I know I haventbeen here long, hell I dont even think I have broken 40 posts yet. But i would love a place like that. HAMB can be the next Knights Of Columbus!! hahahah

I'm sure glad Mike stepped up and said it, because when I saw this at the top again today all I could do was shake my head and wonder how it got even one serious reply.
