Any new Ha/GR's going to make it this year?
Got a new ride you'll be sporting? I wanna hear about it.

Nope not a new one BUT the old one now has a new Tranny and I'm Itchin to get Kustm52 in SLOW drag race and kick his ass.
B:eek:B
New slant six powered HA/GR, come hell or high water or some other catastrophic event.
It will probably be the slowest one there, but I'll have fun being the slowest!!

Dont know yet...
Probably not the '28 this year, because the 327 that blew up on my to the Drags last year will go in something else once its rebuilt.
(And the car it will go into is too new for the Drags...)
I'm working on my T... that might be done in time.

I was with Hiboy32 last year - - - This year I am driving my '62 Galaxie (avatar) down there. I have to make it to the Roundup and back first, though!
I'll definitely be entering and racing. Right now it has a 390/auto, but I'm collecting parts to put either a 4 or 5 speed in it. The 390 is stock inside w/ a cam, Edelbrock intake and carb. 3.00 gears in it right now, but I have 3.70s that would work great with a 5 speed. We'll see!
Can't wait!

Hell Im almost done, just a few more nuts and bolts and I will be on the road.

Just reading this thread, makes my heart pound..
The Model A is ready to go..The blower has perfect manners, so the drive shouldn't be any diffrent than usual. ET should be quicker though...
See ya, -Abone.

Chicken,
Traction was always a problem with the old combination. I really don't know what the hell I'm going to do now..this thing makes monster power. Very scary.
Can you tow the T with the Falcon?
See you in August, -Abone.

Abone-
I think the Falcon would pull the T (brand spankin' new hot-rod 200 SIX in the bird) but it'd never ever stop it with those itty-bitty brakes, lol. Guess I'll have to use the truck.
I'll bet that Pontiac has some bark now......think it's up to Cadillac racin? 'Course if I have to loan you my slicks only one of us can race at a time........and Hog Mtn Dave still wants a piece of me.......I'm gettin' skeered!

I don't just want a piece of you, I want the whole thing.
Just shittin ya. The car makes killer power, but has no hope of traction of any kind, so my timeslips won't look like yours.
Gonne be fun though...
See you in 5 months, -Abone.

I'm leaving the '55 at home this year and bringing my '63 Chevy SWB. Got the 350 in it, all the rust repair done, and by August it should be totally flat black. Also, should do a lot better in the 1/4 than the Poncho, this year anyhow. Next year, plan to have the 389 in it, for a return to the drags. :D

I plan on bringing the coupe again. Right now it's still broke from the last time out in October. We've been working on other projects. I did strip all the lettering off over the winter. I kinda like it nekkid but it will get redone, just have to find someone willing to do it with a brush.

Planning on my 64 wagon, got a new small block in it over the winter with 2 fours and an angry little cam, new muncie 4 speed and 355 posi. Still doesn't come off the line as good as I would like ( maybe cause it wieghs bout a million pounds ) so might look at a little deeper gear before august. Just make the drive down a little slower.
If all else fails I will bring my roadster again, it put up some pretty respectable times last year. Gary

Curious,
I'll be bringing our new HA/GR. I'm building a 321 inch GMC 6 with aluminum rods,13.5:1 JE pistons, Ported head (261cfm @ .600"), aluminum roller rockers, Custom built intake with 3 Rochester 2brl carbs, etc. I want to bring the HA/GR, E.T.& MPH records back to Kansas City with me.
I'll be tuning the engine on our DTS dyno so it should run pretty good.
See you on the starting line.

Last year was the first time I had been to the HAMB Drags. I met Bob Hindman at Tulsa Raceway Park and he told me about MOKAN and the HAMB Drags. Two weeks later I showed up at MOKAN to watch. It was great, I took 120 pictures and looked at every car, most of them several times. So I went back home all excited and a few months later started building something to bring next time. I gathered up all my usable car parts and bought a few new ones. Got some steel and started cutting and welding. So far this is what I have. Still got a ways to go but I think I can make by August. Just want to make a few passes down the strip and see what happens.

Me & the little lady will be cruising in in the 39 Plymouth again this year. I have solved a few issues that we had last year so I'm hopeing to break into the nineteens this year. Fast is a relitive term, a slow ride is better then a fast walk (or leaving the broken ride home). Ain't that right Fiddy? :D Now watch me break something....
So, last year we already had a poker run with door prizes, and the Friday night BBQ arranged by now. Are these things going to happen again this year? Or did I miss something?

It may not be as slow as you think. I remember a modified at my local dirt track that ran a slant six in the early 1970's. He did pretty well, could almost match the SBCs. The longer stroke made good torque off the corners.
